Our Mission & Vision
Rooted in rhythm. Guided by purpose. Empowering future generations through the legacy of Sehananwa music.
Our Mission
Our mission is to preserve and uplift the cultural identity of the Sehananwa people by sustaining the traditions of dinaka and dikiba music. We aim to nurture future generations of musicians by offering education, mentorship, and meaningful performance opportunities that reflect our ancestral roots.
Through vibrant performances at weddings, rites of passage, community ceremonies, and regional festivals, we strive to keep traditional music alive as a living art form. We believe that heritage should not be locked in museums or archives—it should be danced to, sung with, and passed on with pride.
By engaging both youth and elders, our programs bridge generations, foster belonging, and encourage young performers to carry our stories into the future through rhythm and harmony.
Our Vision
We envision a thriving, united community where Sehananwa musical heritage is celebrated, respected, and actively practiced by the youth of today. Our goal is not only to protect tradition but to make it relevant—to inspire new creative expressions that remain grounded in our identity.
Through our vision, we see a world where:
- 🎼 Young artists embrace dinaka/dikiba as a source of pride and professional expression
- 🌍 Traditional music is recognized as a vital part of national and global cultural discourse
- 🏫 Schools and community centers include cultural education in their core activities
- 🤝 Intergenerational dialogue strengthens cultural transmission and mutual respect
As we look ahead, we remain grounded in the rhythms of our past, building a future where Botsielele’s music continues to resonate in hearts, homes, and communities across generations.
