Who We Are

Based in the heart of Senwabarwana, Botsielele Cultural Group is a grassroots initiative dedicated to the revival and celebration of traditional Sehananwa music. Founded by passionate cultural advocates, our group brings together seasoned performers and aspiring youth to uphold the spirit of dinaka and dikiba—indigenous musical styles passed down through generations.

We believe that music is more than entertainment—it’s a vessel of memory, language, and belonging. Whether performing at weddings, ancestral ceremonies, or educational festivals, our mission is to create soundscapes that connect people to their roots, values, and each other.

Why Sehananwa Music Matters

Sehananwa music, especially in the form of dinaka (flute ensembles) and dikiba (vocal rhythmic chants), is a cornerstone of our cultural identity. Its melodies echo our ancestors’ wisdom, our land’s rhythm, and our people’s resilience.

In a rapidly modernizing world, many traditional art forms are at risk of fading into obscurity. That’s why our group sees preservation not as nostalgia, but as resistance. It’s a declaration that our stories, songs, and ceremonies are worth protecting—and sharing with the world.
